The Importance of Sensory Play

Help me give my students sensory objects and toys that they can enjoy. My classroom consist of students who are on the Autism Spectrum Disorder. Sensory play encourages learning through exploration, curiosity , problem solving and creativity.

My Project

My students are all on the Autism Spectrum. They are very special in their own way. Each of them are fascinated with different objects. Some like electronics, cars and shoes. While others like maps and pictures. My students enjoy playing with different objects that stimulates their senses such as taste, smell, movement, balance, sight and hearing.

Please donate to our sensory project which consist of sensory toys to increase their scientific processes and they can explore the real world.

This is why sensory play is so important with our students with disabilities.

Ms. Laing Miami Central Senior High School Grades 9-12
