Help me give my students copies of the book Night by Elie Wiesel because when so many lies and denials are being conveyed as truth, I would like them to learn to combat that.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This project will help stop the spread of disinformation and antisemitism in a small way. I am only a Jewish American teacher, but as many out there, I am sickened by what I see in the education system- in K-12 schools as well as colleges and universities. Lack of knowledge has made it easy for many to fall for mistruths and flat out lies. My students barely have any education regarding WW 2 and the Holocaust. Help me educate in the small way I can by helping to fund a copy of Elie Wiesel's eye opening, life changing memoir, Night.
As all English teachers know, there is nothing like creating empathy and helping students become critical thinkers than by giving them access to information- all sides, but especially truth.
My students are primarily Asian and Hispanic and have limited knowledge at their age of what truly occurred under the Nazi regime. Reading this powerful memoir will not only enable me to develop their ELA skills, but it will open them up to a time in history that as a human race, we must never forget.
By funding this project, you are helping me to show others that each of us, in our own small way, can make a difference. Even when we feel like we can't. Your generosity helps me make my difference. Thank you!
