My Students

I have been a special ed teacher in a diverse and urban school for over 3 years now. I have my undergraduate degree in Language and Literacy, my master's degree in special education, and am presently working on my Ph.D. in general psychology with a focus on cognition and instruction. I am absolutely dedicated and passionate about what I do. I could not imagine doing anything else.

Year after year I have the pleasure of educating small minds that ranges from severely below grade to above grade level.

I have always had an inclusive classroom with students who have learning differences or are intellectually disabled. Every year I have at least one student with autism, and many others with a learning disability. Interestingly, despite my master's degree in special education, I struggle to find digital resources that cater to all my students and I feel like this is a huge dent in my professional development that needs to be filled.

My students are all from diverse low-income families, with the majority of them living in the shelter system. They deserve the best of both worlds.

My Project

Using a Samsonite Openroad Carrying Backpack will ensure that the teacher's digital devices and technologies are protected. My students will not have to only see lessons on the chart and talk delivery, but through the visual world of videos, online platforms, and ensure students never have to miss a beat because their teacher's devices fell and got damaged during transition. I want my students to know that their teacher will continue to offer them lessons of the highest caliber, regardless of where those lessons are being taught from with the external hard drive.
