This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These mushroom kits will enhance the classroom hands-on activities that I like to create. As a newer program, I want my students to experience many hands-on activities. I would love to make my classroom as hands-on as possible in Agriculture. Every student loves to see a project start as nothing and grow into something amazing within 30 days. Many of my students are multi-language learners and by allowing them to experience hands-on activities they have the opportunity and ability to learn through their experiences.

This project aims for all students to learn by doing and seeing the result of the learning in the form of a product.

Therefore adds to their ability to identify different crops and products to allow them to make healthy choices.

In the field of Agriculture, the mushroom industry is one of the local crops produced near our school. Having students grow the mushroom in class will allow for a community connection for our students. Furthermore, many of the parents work in the mushroom industry therefore by students growing these in the classroom it will help create a connection with family members.
