My Students

My students are some of the youngest of our learners! Many come into my classroom without going to preschool. Many do not have experiences that you and I consider very routine! Our school has sixty-five to seventy percent of our students on the free or reduced price lunch program. Despite, the poverty that surrounds many of these children, they overcome! Our team (teachers, parents, and students) works hard to get these children where they need to be! I am so proud to be a part of this team!

These children come to me with very little experiences, but with a desire and excitement to learn!

It is my goal to make learning a privilege and something they enjoy, not a chore and something they dread! These children appreciate all of the experiences I try to give them in the two years I have them!

My Project

By allowing my students to have headphones that fit their little faces, my students will be able to enjoy a good book throughout the day! One of the ways that little ones begin to have a love for books is by listening to them! While I am teaching my guided reading groups, my other students will have the opportunity to listen to books on CD with headphones that are durable and little person friendly! They love being able to do this station for themselves! Unfortunately the cheap and more adult headphones cause problems or fall apart which means I have to help or we have to close down that center option. These headphones will help with this problem.
