My Students

Do you remember getting hooked on a series of books as a child? My students this year are begging for that opportunity! We are a class of 25, general education and special education students, searching for access to new reading material. Being that we have such a diverse group of readers, it’s been hard to access appropriate reading materials. A lot of the texts we have in our library are too high and very outdated.

Growing up, I was not a reader unless I found a series I loved and/or related to and I want to be able to provide an amazing set of new, exciting books for my 5th graders.

While we have access to some books, they are older and my students have had a hard time connecting to the topics and genres.

Please consider helping me fund this new project. I want my students to be excited to read every night and visit our classroom library every week!

My Project

While we have access to books in our classroom library, most are outdated and the titles are not interesting to the students. I want to bring classics into our classroom library, as well as some new titles they have been asking for!

One of my goals as a teacher, is being able to give my students the chance to fall in love with reading.

I know when I was younger, it took certain series and/or authors to help me fall in love with reading. I want to be able to provide that for my students. Please help give the gift of a new, fun library to my students!
