The Future of STEM Is Now!

Help me give my students Chromebooks to use online simulations that are in alignment with the STEM Education Program and enable them to apply what they learn in situations that would be otherwise impossible.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is embarking upon a new STEM program. My students are highly motivated and eager to take on the roles of a Scientist, Technologist, Engineer and Mathematician! They enter my class with wide eyes and smiling faces everyday.

I see students who are otherwise detached and struggle academically, exhilarated to work in teams to evaluate, design and test possible solutions to real world problems.

I see students who often complete schoolwork with ease, excited to be challenged while using the engineering-design process to tackle problems.

Our Title Ischool is located in the southwestern section of Queens in New York City. Otherwise known as Little Guyana-Trinidad and Tobago or Little Punjab. It has a large population of immigrant families who migrated here in order to provide their children with a solid education and opportunity to become successful citizens.

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) occupation made of over 1/3 of employment in professional, scientific and technical service. I am so proud to expose so many children to this form of education and to be a part of such a positive movement in our school and NYC community!

My Project

Theses Chromebooks will support a crucial element in STEM learning. The students will use them in collaboration with our AMPLIFY STEM program.

They will provide students the opportunity to use simulation applications to explore and comprehend the vast outer space, build simulation electrical circuits and complex systems, explore and build habitats that are conducive to different forms of plant and animal life, understand and construct vehicles that incorporate renewable energy and much, much more!

Throughout the units of study in grades K-5, students are required to take part in this hands on exploration simulation. These laptops will enable them to apply what they learn in situations that would be otherwise impossible.
