My Project

I teach first-year middle school students who are full of energy and eager to learn. They come to class each day ready to work hard and enjoy having a class that feels different from their core subjects.

To help them grow as artists, I am wanting to receive a variety of basic drawing supplies including quality drawing paper, pencils, erasers, rulers, and markers.

The supplies will give students the tools they need to practice, explore, and learn about drawing.

These materials will also allow me to introduce a perspective drawing unit, where even students who struggle with freehand drawing can create impressive artwork using one- and two-point perspective techniques. Markers help finalize their work, giving drawings the look of architectural renditions. This approach opens students’ minds not only to new techniques but also to potential career paths in the arts.

As an artist growing up, I always loved receiving “Learn to Draw” books. I have ordered a few for my students so they can enjoy drawing superheroes, anime, cars, and characters. These books teach students how to build complex forms from simple shapes, giving them an engaging way to practice drawing on their own while building confidence and skill.
