My Students

Every child has a story, but so do their shoes. Bright colors, brand new, white and black rubber soles...for the most part; but then you also have the students in the shoes they wore last year, or their brother's/sister's hand me downs, or whatever the shoe's story may be. I have looked at their shoes and I have always been reminded, to put yourself in their shoes, walk a mile in their shoes. Every year children bring a new gift to my life, this group has given me the gift of relentlessness. I am relentless in my endeavor to provide these children with a positive second grade experience.

My Project

We are currently using pillows for our floor seating row. I feel that we need to use something that helps the students feel more comfortable, while also offering a more versatile seating arrangement. I have chosen two options to give each student a choice of which seating they would prefer at the floor desks. I have chosen the easy to clean outdoor cushions for those who prefer to sit still or criss-cross-applesauce and I chosen the stability disks for students who need a little extra movement to focus. I am hoping that these will provide maximum attentiveness and comfort for each student.
