My students are incredible. Despite having the daily challenges of Autism Spectrum Disorder, my students love to learn and take in new information; they get so excited to raise their hands and participate. They make me appreciate every day that I come to school.
Learning is infectious in our classroom; we use so many different methods to gain our knowledge.
Every project we are able to do is met with enthusiasm, and my students are the heart of the classroom.
To learn about the world around us and how to best prepare for our futures, my students use a variety of techniques, technology, and methods to learn to their best ability. I am simply amazed at the milestones they are able to achieve.
My Project
With moderate to severe disabilities, sequencing events is challenging for my students; however, they love to tell stories! We are working on sequencing events in our own stories to tell what happened first, second, and last. Using the whiteboards and markers, students will be working to create a sequence of events that they can erase and edit with ease, making the writing process accessible to all of my students who often have difficulty with traditional pencils and erasers.
My students strive for independence, and will engage in activities when they are accessible.
Using their sequences of events, students will be able to print their stories, on our classroom printer, draw their pictures, and laminate them, creating easily accessible work for later sequencing reviews!
Please help my students continue to learn and grow!
