My Students

Remember how excited you were on your first day back to school with all your new school supplies?

My students attend a school where 50% of them are on free or reduced lunches.

When parents cannot afford to pay for their child's lunch, they definitely cannot afford to purchase the needed supplies for the upcoming school year. These students come in embarrassed as they watch others happily put away and organize their supplies.

My Project

I have requested basic supplies for my classroom such as, pencils, paper, scissors, markers, etc, so that all of my students can be excited about coming to school. I want students to feel welcomed and know that I will be able to provide them with everything they need to be successful.

When a student walks in their new classroom for the year, it should be an exciting time, not one of embarrassment because they do not have basic supplies for the year.

I want to be able to provide each student with confidence in the coming year by showing them they will be taken care of.
