My Students

The constant challenge facing today's students is funding for quality materials. All too often California's schools do not receive the kind of access to equipment and consumable supplies that are necessary for a full class room experience.

Unlike many surrounding communities,the students who attend our high school grow up in a quiet and safe environment where support for education is common place.

However, like all California communities, the students at our school often miss out on opportunities for real world training and education due to the lack of financial support from the state and district to supply schools with the basic supplies in courses like photography.

My Project

We are requesting 150 rolls of Kodak T-Max film. Kodak has been providing the industry's professional standard in film for the last century. Using professional quality film will give our students the opportunity to compare the final product with the bargain brand film we usually purchase.

Our students have a unique opportunity to experience hands on creation in the darkroom.

Many schools do not have a black and white photography program so we are doing our best to keep this one alive as well as maintain the excellent reputation it has endured over the last 30 years. This project will help to perpetuate that reputation by allowing students to create original artwork using materials considered to be the standard held by art schools around the world.
