My Students

Our community of students come from modest to lower-income homes in Queens, New York. The tenth-grade student council members have chosen to beautify the school, which will create a welcoming environment in the midst of car exhausts and the tall concrete that is our urban environment. We will use the resources that you generously donate to create a school garden and paint murals around our building to reflect our love for our community, our hopes and aspirations for the future. Our school garden will require our students to have work together as a team and be responsible for our own space for learning. Our student population is extremely diverse, we hope to bring our unique experiences be reflected on our school grounds.

My Project

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student involvement and attendance, you will ultimately help them learn about teamwork and responsibility. The garden will offer students a way to destress at the end of their hectic day. Our students have hopes of donating the vegetables they have grown to those in need. The tenth grade student council is committed to the community and the garden will allow them to reach members of the South Richmond Hill area. Additionally, this experience will allow students to understand and appreciate where their food comes from. Thank you!
