My Students

My students are unique in their own way. Each of them bring their own talent and strength to the classroom environment. Our school is predominantly African Americans students with a few Hispanic and Asian populations and 1% white. Most of these students are low leveled students.

Their ability to read and write are extremely poor and weak.

Regardless of their insufficiency they have a spirit to learn which makes my job easier. With my guidance and high expectation, I know they can learn.

My Project

These materials will assist my students in their exploration in Science Concepts. Currently, they are studying ecosystems which entails a lot of observation, experimentation and modeling.

Students can navigate their biomes of study, illustrate the location; identifying plants and animals found in the biomes and write an appealing story to invite others to visit their location.

Also, they can use the index cards to draw an image/write on one side for each other about their biomes as well as for vocabulary purposes.

Students can also engage in drawing concept maps and comparing and contrasting types of biomes using color coding with the geometry set and colored pencils respectively to differentiate between biomes and make their work more appealing to other readers and print rich.

Additionally, to serve students faster with a time pacing calendar, I believed that organization is very crucial to their success. These organizational items such as the shoe boxes, wire mesh desk organizer and the staples drawer organizer will help my students to get their supplies quickly and save time, giving them the opportunity to complete their task efficiently and effectively.
