My Project

Our students are learning so much about becoming stewards of our environment through soil cultivation, researching national flowers, indigenous pollinators attracting flowers, indigenous birds, and appropriate birdhouses and simply working together to serve a purpose greater than ourselves. The genesis of the garden stems from the invasion of Ukraine: the quadrants of the peace symbol are populated with the national flowers of Ukraine and Russia, sunflowers, and chamomile, the perimeters are populated with national flowers representing the diverse populations of our Dewey community.

The theme is that although we're all from different backgrounds, here we set down our roots, grow stronger together, and can find it within ourselves to create and share beauty.
