I will be teaching 2nd grade at a crowded, inner-city school. All the students in my school receive free lunch. While many of my students do not have any family members who have attended college, my goal is that my entire class starts learning the skills they need to go on to higher education.

I am starting a program based on a book called The Daily 5, which fosters independent reading and writing. There are many mini lessons to be taught, all using teacher and student created charts. The students will be referring to these charts all year long. Other teachers using this program say their children become much better readers and writers than students in classes not using The Daily 5.

I need an easel! The easel will be next to me during 5 mini lessons each day while the class is gathered in front. A pad of chart paper is attached to the easel so I can write AND see the class.

Please help me get the tools I need to bring this powerful program to my students. They are such terrific children and I want them to get every advantage I can bring to them!! Thank you SO much!!
