My Students

My students are unique in their own way. Each of them bring their own talent and strength to the classroom environment. Our school is predominantly African Americans students with a few Hispanic and Asian populations and 1% white. Most of these students are low leveled students.

Their ability to read and write are extremely poor and weak.

Regardless of their insufficiency they have a spirit to learn which makes my job easier. With my guidance and high expectation, I know they can learn.

My Project

Students come to the learning environment with an intent to learn. However, if not provided with the basic tools for learning, it will impede their progress. Our students often times do not have the basic to attend school. Many of them live in shelters or moving from home to home or parents may not have the amenities to afford them with pens, pencils or notebook to write in school. If they do have a notebook it may get lost or damage along the way. Therefore, with some assistance with notebook, pens and pencils it will elevate one less stress for them. These materials will be used to write notes and share their learning with others. It will empower them to become more accountable for their learning and an active participant in class.

Mrs. Dover Science Skills Center Grades 9-12

Celebrate Black teachers and kids! This project supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of students are Black.
