My Project

Every school has a ton of crayons, and every school has a ton of crayons that end up in the trash can, and then into our landfills. We want to change that by having our crayons end up in the hands of children in hospitals across America.

The Crayon Initiative is making a difference for kids one crayon at a time!

We want to help with that mission. We want to give every student at our school a labeled bag to help them collect crayons at home.

We will send a crayon collection bag home with every student in our school. Students will then be able to collect crayons and bring them back to school so we can send our donation to the Crayon Initiative.

Once at the Crayon Initiative, the crayons are recycled and given a new life! They are melted down and put into triangular-shaped crayons that won't roll off the hospital tray.

We are looking forward to brightening the day for those who are receiving long-term care in the hospital! Our students will have first-hand experience with a service project that promotes empathy and care for the Earth.
