Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a special education teacher in an integrated co-teaching classroom, and we work with students who have individualized education plans and some who do not.

Many of our students do not have access to supplies and resources, and we are always looking to provide them with more.

We are a class filled with different learners who are always looking to help one another. They are all sweet and treat one another with great respect and kindness. My students work hard and are super excited to learn. Our job is to provide students with the skills and strategies they need in order to find success, whether they are in special education or general education.

My Project

I am requesting skin tone crayons, pencils, and supply organizers for this school year. These supplies will help my kindergarteners feel welcome and comfortable this upcoming school year. Many of my students will be experiencing school inside of a classroom for the first time. Pencils and supply organizers will help my students stay organized in sharing some supplies.

The skin-tone colored crayons will help my students feel seen and allow them to properly draw pictures of themselves this year!

This is something I know will be incredibly important to allow them to feel welcome in their possible first schooling experience.

Also, in a kindergarten classroom, you can never have enough tissues!
