My Students

I teach an amazing group of preschool students who are eager to learn, and get to do so through play. My room is an early childhood special education class, with students ranging from 3 to 5 years of age. Our students have eligibilities that vary widely, including: Developmental Delay, Down Syndrome, Speech / Language Impairment, and Intellectual Disability (formerly known as Mental Retardation).

My preschool students are always surprising me with their energy and love for school.

It is an honor to be part of their education process.

My Project

The printer (and ink cartridges) will help us create a way for our non-verbal students to communicate with us, and the world around them. We will use this technology to create a picture exchange communication system (PECS) so that students can tap on the cards in order to tell us what they want, what they need, what they think, and what they dream. The visuals that our students so desperately need can easily be created with this equipment. Our students face great challenges in communicating verbally like you and I do, and the donation of this printer is an investment in the future; the future of our students.
