This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

A few years ago, I started the Children's Voice Podcast with my students. I have used my own personal laptop to record and edit their "videos" but now I need to replace it with a new one so I can continue to promote my podcast which enables my students throughout the years to express their views on current, relevant civic topics. You might wonder how a new laptop will provide me with professional development? As we rely more and more each day with using technology, I rely on it to show my students how to maneuver and record their podcast episodes, which in turn, I'm able to share with colleagues and the community. This enables me to continue growing in my own professional development as I also share with other educators how to teach their students all about podcasting. Acquiring up to date tools, like a laptop, will assist me in doing a better job at promoting the use of technology with colleagues and students alike.
