My Project

As another school year begins, I am starting to think of all those challenges my students will face in my English class. The one I worry about the most? Writing.

What is it about writing an essay that sends my students into anxiety?

Is it the thought that they simply have nothing to say? Is it that feeling most get about how to start the essay, and more, how to start it effectively? Is it that fear that they won't have the words to effectively convey what it is that they want to say?

Regardless of the reasons, I have found that there is one resource I can offer all my kids that has worked year after year - EssayPop. EssayPop is an online app that breaks down the writing process into chunks. This allows the student to tackle one part of an essay at a time. If they get stuck, EssayPop offers them a variety of sentence starters to get them back on track. EssayPop will also show them the most effective way to order their writing, so they can learn the different structures and their effectiveness.

In short, this app has time, and time again showed my students that they have something powerful to say, and this tool merely allowed them a platform to refine it.
