it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are an energetic, intelligent, and resilient group of youngsters. Similar to everyone else, they have faced the pandemic. However, they are struggling to adjust to our "new norm.” Many students have lost loved ones, have lingering medical issues themselves, and/or are in a new living situations. Despite the many new obstacles my students face, they are still expected to achieve at high levels academically.
I seek to be the calm after the storm.
I want to create an environment that is calm and soothing. I want my students to have an environment that they look forward to coming to every day. School should be a place of consistent support that enhances their social emotional well-being. I am requesting games that foster social-emotional skills. I am also requesting items like a CD player and oil diffuser that will help calm and soothe my students so that they can be prepared to learn.
