This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The 9th-grade team is excited to launch an integrated project centered around the book "Victims and Both Sides of the Gun" by Tina Schuster. Thanks to a previous DonorsChoose project, we have secured copies of this book for our students to read.

As we delve into the story, we will simultaneously explore the nervous system and the structure and function of the brain.

Our goal is to help students understand how environmental stimuli interact with the brain, specifically how it processes that information and generates responses.

Since we are a project-based school, we will encourage students to create a miniature model of the human brain. This hands-on project with clay will serve as a valuable reference as we discuss the brain's various functions and its role in our daily lives. We believe this integrated approach will deepen their understanding of the story and the science behind how we think and react.
