My Students

My students want to go into health care professions but many times they are not prepared to compete with other students at the college level. The materials that I am requesting will actually put them ahead of the game. They will be able to use cutting edge technology to learn human anatomy.

I teach high school in a rural community that has been hard hit by the recession.

Over 60% of our students qualify for free or reduced lunches and for some of them the school provides the only dependable source of food. However, my students are extremely bright and they are excited about learning. They understand that if they work hard they can have the American Dream. I want to give them the best that I AM to help them reach their goals. I love my kids - nothing is too good for them.

My Project

This Neotek Base System is a passport to the world of virtual reality. Although this system's major use would be for the virtual human dissections in the Human Anatomy class, it could also be used for any dissection in the biology classes. All major systems are represented in the 3D dissection CDs. These programs offer the "reality" of wet lab dissections without actually sacrificing the animals. These programs are Humane Society-endorsed. This would be a major addition to our Biology lab. Without your support this is nothing but a dream. Please help my students experience this higher level educational program.

This material will have a massive impact on my students who wish to pursue health care careers.

I know from personal experience that transitioning from a small school to a university can be traumatic. I had never seen most of the equipment in the Biology lab, much less used it. I don't want my students to start out handicapped by a lack of experience. I want them to feel at ease and confident that they can handle college level work. But the reality is that I can't make this happen on my own.
