Help Ms. Dice

A picture is worth 1,000 words! I teach a 10th grade Biology class in a high needs school in Maryland.

I often use pictures, diagrams and videos in class to grab the students' attention and to better explain what is being described in the text. I would like to be able to create clear and colorful power point presentations to deliver important content information to the students as well. Presenting information to students in this way helps them prepare for college, where most lectures are accompanied by a power point presentation. In addition to this, I would like students to be able to create their own power point presentations and be able to show them to the class.

The problem with this plan is the lack of LCD projectors and speakers in the building. I would like to be able to use a projector almost every day, and with the available resources at my school, that is not a reality. With a projector and speakers in my room, I can see something on the news at night and show it to my classes the next day, without having to wait several days until a projector is available.

You will help me put away the dusty, loud overhead projector and help my students learn to learn the way colleges around the country are expecting them to.
