The Bare Necessities

Help me give my students the necessities, as most are very poor. I would love to give them snacks to take home so they are not hungry and hygiene products so they can properly care for themselves.

My Project

I am a school nurse at a Title 1 school. We have many poor families. Some of my students have mentioned to me that they go without things, like certain hygiene products, because their families don’t have the money for them. Our school provides breakfast and lunch for our sweet kiddos, but I would love to have snacks that they can take home so they are not hungry at home. I am working on making “grab-and-go” bags for my kids. These will include hygiene product baggies and snack food baggies and the kids can grab what they need for home. It is so heartbreaking to hear that a child has to go without something that others acquire so easily and see as necessary. Please help me help my kiddos always have snacks at home and necessary hygiene products, such as feminine products. Help them have their basic needs met so their mental health can flourish. Thank you!
