Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have a group of fourth-grade students who are highly enthusiastic and eager to learn something new every single day.

My students always try their best at everything and anything despite the challenges that they face in their daily lives.

My students live in an impoverished area of South Los Angeles. All of my students come from low-income families.

We are a Title I school where one hundred percent of our students receive free meals. My students do not all have the same opportunities at home and thus need to be exposed to as many opportunities as possible at school.

My Project

I am requesting a MacBook Pro to get my students college ready. Out with the old, in with the new! The time has come for me to teach my students 21st-century skills. I am ready to do everything in my power to get my students college-ready.

My students are at the age at which they are writing essays.

At this time and age, children are fascinated by all of the upcoming technology. What better way is there to introduce my students to technology while enhancing their writing skills?

With your help, I would like to obtain a MacBook laptop for my students to type and print their essays. In fourth grade, part of the California standards states that students should be able to type their writing. Not only will this laptop serve the purpose of typing essays, but my students will also have the opportunities to use educational programs such as Lexia, DreamBox, and Raz Kids. These programs support learning in reading and math.

I want to expose them to multiple writing tools at school since my students' families aren’t able to provide such technology at home.
