Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are curious kids on the autism spectrum who leaned best through hands on activities. They are learning how to be more independent through daily living skill activities such as cooking, cleaning, sorting laundry and taking care of themselves. Children with autism love precision and repetition, the two necessities in baking.

Encouraging kids with autism to develop cooking skills not only benefits their health but also helps them build confidence and become more independent.

The materials being requested such as cooking kits, baking mix, oven, icecream maker, popcorn maker and ingredients will give my students the opportunity to learn how to bake and work as a team.
