My Project

The use of a double-sided teaching easel is a daily activity in my classroom in the assigned subject area that I teach this year, which is Math. I model various strategies when teaching common core standards. The students that I teach are students from minority groups, who are less fortunate, and need an education that is meaningful to them. When using this teaching easel, students will be able to visually see concepts modeled and are better able to understand strategies I present to them. This double-sided teaching easel will provide an easy place for students to show and share their work to demonstrate their understanding, while using the bins attached to store their manipulatives. The previous easel we had was damaged after many years of use. Also, what becomes a problem is the fact that markers we have never seem to last, erasers seem to disappear, and the Easel slowly become stained from frequent use. Using this kind of double-sided teaching easel will allow the students to store markers and retrieve them easily using the bins attached. By having a double-sided teaching easel with storage, students will also be able to model to the rest of the class their understanding and apply their learning in a meaningful way!
