My Project

We have many Native American tribes represented in our school. I would like to get a variety of books from different Native American tribes so that my students can relate and celebrate their heritage.

I would like my students to enjoy reading about characters similar to themselves.

It is hard to find Native American characters portrayed in books for children. They desire to see a positive role model in books that they can look up to.

Our area was recently hit by a tornado, so many of these students have lost their belongings from their homes and I would like them to have something they can read and relate to.
