My students are talented visual arts majors of may different ethnicities as well as socio-economic backgrounds. They were admitted to the school only after a meticulous auditioning process. They travel to our school from all across the city to pursue their passion for art and making art. They work extremely hard. This year, we will embark on printmaking.
Everyday my students work on great pieces of art.
They create drafts of the projects that they work on. It would be great for students to be able to share a copy of their work for teacher review while maintaining the original to continue working. Students would also be able to have a copy to make changes to without having to alter the original piece of work. But unfortunately, we do not have a printer.
I would love to be able to have instructional packets that detail the “how to” process for many of the things that we do in class. Unfortunately, we do not have a printer.
Imagine being able to copy student work to serve as inspirational examples in the classroom. Unfortunately, we do not have a printer.
Having a printer in my classroom will change our learning environment tremendously. As a teacher, I would be able to make copies of pieces that students are working on. I could make copies of work to serve an examples of work assignments. Also the students would be able to share copies amongst themselves for peer review and critiques. With a printer, I could prepare instructional packets. Students would be able to reference the packets independently during class time. A printer will dramatically improve our class room.
