This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a brand new special educator in a small elementary district. I am working hard to create a learning environment for my students. In my special day classroom (SDC), my students work on writing, math, reading, and cooperative learning. We work in whole and small groups. My students have special needs, and they are very special little people. Each of them has unique abilities, characteristics, and some quirks. They are dynamic learners with personalities, likes, and dislikes and I love spending my days helping them learn. But I am a new teacher and my classroom has only the bare necessities provided by the district..

My students need a place where they are intrigued, stimulated, and free to engage.

I am ready to provide color, excitement, and beauty to my stripped down classroom. Your donation will provide the means to create a learning environment with style that will begin to meet the needs of my extraordinary learners.

The color printer and laminator will be used to create posters and signs for stations and expectations. The bins will be used to create organization and define work spaces while adding color and whimsy to our, currently, somber environment. Working with students with special needs has been my dream and plan for most of my adult life. Thank you for taking part in the fulfillment of this goal.
