My Students

Our school serves a multicultural, diverse student population in grades PreK-5. While we provide rigorous academics, fantastic teachers, and a safe learning environment, we need to expose more students to the arts through musical theater.

Our large English as a Second Language Learner population would benefit from the kinesthetic, visual, and auditory learning modalities employed in musical theater.

My Project

When kids can see themselves in the characters they read about it is most meaningful! My classroom is immersed with children of all skin colors, ethnicities, and religions! My classroom lacks books where children are able to see themselves in a story. Now more than ever students need to be able to connect with characters who show stride, growth, and acceptance. I pride myself on educating students on all cultures of the world. The more we are educated the more we ACCEPT all differences in this world! This collection of books will do just that!
