My Students
With a school population of fifteen percent of students in temporary housing, thirty-seven percent as English language learners, and forty percent having disabilities, I am determined to ensure the best possible experiences for my students. As research shows, children need to be engaged and motivated to learn. In addition, students are known to thrive best when they are welcomed into an environment that supports their everyday needs, whether they be physical, social, emotional, or academic.
While our motto stands firm in that "Every child has a point of entry to success," as an educator, I also know that point of entry can only be accessed through the right resources; resources that in turn, will make the classroom a place of wondrous possibilities!
It was once stated by Robert John Meehan that "Teaching children is an accomplishment; getting children excited about learning is an achievement." In a world where the innocence of children can so easily be replaced, it is my desire to ensure that students that come from the above population are provided opportunities. Opportunities allow them to understand and experience the joy of the world both inside and outside of the classroom.
My Project
As we continue to tackle another school year, it is my goal to alleviate as much of the chaos as possible. One way to do this is by being prepared.
"Before anything else, preparation is the key to success".
As a teacher of third grade students who will be taking their first ever state exam, I want to make sure my students are well prepared. This project includes colored pens, highlighters, markers and other materials which will provide my students with the tools they need for effective annotating, color coding, highlighting important information, among other things regarding test prep. Thank you in advance for your thoughtfulness and generosity.
Please help a group of deserving students get the materials they need to prepare for our state exam.
