This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I can truly say I love my job. My students are the reason I come to work. They are truly special children, and they deserve the best education I can give them. Most of my students live in poverty.

My classroom has a welcoming environment and my students know that we are a family once you step inside our door.

My students deserve excellent tools to learn to read.

My Project

This project includes tools to help my first grade students master the first grade phonics and writing skills. This includes two excellent and highly recommended texts to guide the teacher in choosing just right activities, manipulatives to help with encoding words to write (the ten frame helps children segment sounds, and either counter style can work on that. The magnetic chips will be super fun for a tap it, zap it reading activity with a magnetic wand. Finally, the stamps and ink pads are a very engaging independent practice activity!
