My Students

Imagine it's your first year of schooling EVER. Up until now, you have been home with a caregiver or in a daycare center. You're four years old beginning your 14+ year journey into the world of education. You're excited but scared about what lies ahead.

My students are 3-5 years old with a diagnosis of autism and/or have delays in receptive, expressive, pragmatic language abilities.

This factor, in addition to entering the school during uncertain COVID-19 times, is an enormous hurdle for any child to overcome making my students more scared than excited.

My Project

My students are just starting off the wonderful world of education during a pandemic. It is very hard to engage children without using cartoons. I am trying to gather resources that will engage them and excite them from a distance remotely! My therapy sessions involve a lot of movement as well as song and dance to motivate as much as possible within a 30 minutes span! I plan on using as many visuals as possible to help my kiddos grasp the sounds, songs, and concepts needed for language development. They will be excited to learn!
