Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work as a Kindergarten self-contained ASD teacher. I'm glad to teach 7 amazing boys who are on the autism spectrum. They have difficulty with communication and interaction with other people.

My students are from diverse cultural backgrounds and most are from low economic families.

Every day they come into the classroom and amaze me at what they can learn and achieve.

At the same time, they are facing several challenges daily, but they are always excited to learn and participate. I am blessed to get to work with such a great group of students. Teaching them is a joy in my life.

My Project

This project serves to bring my students the gift of technology. The requested laptops will afford my students the ability to access their education in a way they have never before seen. In addition, the Kindergarten curriculum requires the use of technology and internet-based learning programs to enhance their school experience.

The access to laptops will afford my students engaging programs that will allow them to integrate and apply their classroom knowledge in multiple contexts.

Allowing my children will be successful with the use of technology will improve their self-esteem, attitude, and overall willingness to learn. The access to endless learning opportunities that the computer (and internet) can bring to my students are invaluable in today's school culture.
