I am a fourth grade teacher in a Title One school located in the Bronx. I am very lucky to have a classroom that has cable access. I would love to be able to use the cable networks to teach current events to my students. Imagine being able to have children make the connection between past history and history in the making. All I would need to make this happen is a television. Fourth grade is an important grade for teaching Social Studies/Current Events. I am preparing my students for the fifth grade Social Studies State test. I am hoping that a television and VCR/DVD in my class will generate excitement among my students. Plus, my children will benefit from all the DVD's that I have purchased from the History Channel. I am enthralled with watching the reenactment of the American Revolution, and I can only imagine how 9 year olds will react. Please help my students get in touch with the world around them. Thank you for your very kind and generous consideration.
