This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are young, bold, learners who I not only teach, but learn from. They aspire to be educated in the arts but have been let down year after year, not having a consistent teacher. I started this year and have encouraged them to perform in just a matter of weeks. Their attitudes have changed for the better and want to continue their training. They don't have resources to access the internet and search for monologues and research musicals. They are eager to learn and perform, but don't have the tools to get them there. My goal is to be able to provide them with technology and equipment that will help them reach their full potential.

My Project

The iPad will provide my students with access to the internet to research musicals and learn from professional actors. They will be able to look for monologues they will need to perform in District and State competition.

Students will be able to perform to their full potential.

It is difficult having to find monologues and songs for musicals for 80 students. Each student deserves time to look for which monologue speaks to them to be able to perform it with every emotion they have. Right now they are limited and cannot successfully do it in a timely manner. My goal is for them to gain access and then take it another level. We will be able to record their performances and save it into an online portfolio to where we can measure growth.
