My Students

We love Kindergarten!

My students are enthusiastic learners and love coming to school.

I couldn't ask for a more enthusiastic bunch of students. My students won the Perfect Attendance Award almost every month. Their favorite subjects are science and math.

Many of my students do not have Internet access at home. Their main access to the Internet, is at school.

Most of my students are second language learners and eligible for a free lunch. We are busy little bees, as you can see from the painting we created for a school fund-raising activity, we love to learn and we would like to use our Smartboard to access learning through the internet world!

My Project

We are Kindergarten and we count!

My students will be able to access the Smartboard, using the computer and projector, to actively participate in many academic programs and various subjects of interest.

Students can use the Smartboard to learn about the alphabet and phonemic awareness, nouns, verbs, and more grammar. Students can also use the Smartboard to access all other academic subjects - math, science, environmental studies, intervention, skills, health and physical education.

Students can learn to operate the Smartboard on their own. It uses active learning such as, touch and drag technology to teach students. Students can listen, then actively touch the correct answer, or drag the correct answer, before moving to the next skill. Students can use the board to create their own kid-inspired learning programs. They pick a subject; access clip art, or information from the internet, or input what they know and create a lesson.

Once students begin to use the board, or know how to use the board, their learning is endless.

This is a engaging and highly motivating learning activity for kindergarten students and their peer tutors.
