Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Community is not just a term for the students at our school. Due to its small stature, the school has adopted a more of a small town mentality than that of a typical high school. Each person, from the students down to the administrators, all know each other with a familiarity that you wouldn't get in a much larger school. This familiarity is what the students have stated makes them the most proud about being a student at our school.

The school's biggest department is special education, where servicing students through hands-on learning and experiences are essential to their educational experience.

The school is an Expeditionary Learning School, where the teachers' curriculum is based on case studies, and the students producing high quality products using the knowledge built both in and out of the classroom. With this model, the school can tailor lessons to fit the learning styles of a multitude of students within a single class.

My Project

During this pandemic having technology that is capable of juggling multiple assignments, constant emails, online classes and meetings is essential.

Having this technology will greatly increase my ability to give my students as great as an experience as they would have if they were actually still in the classroom utilizing such apps like Google Classroom, Google Meet, and Zoom.

In addition, it will allow me to maintain constant email and video communication with my students and colleagues to check in on their well being which is more important now than ever before.
