Technology to Monitor Progress

Help me give my students an opportunity to fulfill their progress monitoring goals by providing individualized learning through the integration of reliable technology.

My Project

The use of tablets and technology is imperative to today's students, and students are used to the idea of virtual learning opportunities. The students that would be serviced through this project are reading below grade level, and the opportunity to provide them with literacy skills and tools that are on a dependable device would help them while working in a 1:1 setting with me. This iPad tablet would allow my students the opportunity to have differentiated learning chances, with the incorporation of small group and one-on-one learning strategies. Also, the use of this iPad would allow me the ability to be able to apply the necessary tools for progress monitoring and date entry needed for these students' IEPs and 504 plans.

I would like to be able to provide my students with alternative outlets and ways to engage with the world and community around them that will not limit their personal goals and ambitions.

My students are in the High School age, so transition planning is a key component of their progress towards graduation and post-secondary success. This tablet would allow them to not only have individualized lessons for reading and literacy, but also research and track post-secondary goals like college and career, applications to jobs, scholarships, and internships. Through guided discourse, this piece of technology allows these students to be able to learn and explore various avenues toward an independent life after high school.
