Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

It's time for technology! My students are growing up in the digital age, and education should embrace that!

I teach kindergarten in a public school in a high-poverty area.

My students are bright and eager to learn as much as possible! Our school has interactive whiteboards, but very little software to use with it. With budget cuts, our school will not be able to provide these resources.

My Project

My students will be using nonfiction readers in math, science, and social studies to learn more about their world. They will be able to follow along with the interactive whiteboard, which highlights the words as they are read, increasing my students' literacy skills. They will then have copies of the text so that they can read on their own. My students will also be able to play phonemic awareness games on the interactive whiteboard.

With your support, my students will have a very engaging way to learn math, science and social studies.

They will get to hear, see, and touch the whiteboard, thereby interacting with text in multiple ways at once. Their literacy skills will be improved in the process, and supported even further with traditional copies of the text. Learning will be that much more fun!
