Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a diverse group of individuals that come from all different parts of the five boroughs. All of my students are held at the highest standard of academic achievement and are embraced by their cultural diversity.

My students are bright individuals with various academic levels of learning needs.

They value the importance of learning for growth and development. Being that we are a Title I school, there are high percentages of students that come from low-income households while still required to meet the academic standards.

We create different opportunities for student learning and growth in the classroom that is tailored to their learning needs. It is important for my students to learn from one another and value the importance of their education as young children.

My Project

Technology, as we know, is forever changing and is an integral part of everyone's lives. Both laptops and iPads are mobile devices that are a great way to introduce and reinforce skills and content that is learned in class. For the Informational Unit, students are researching topics that they know about or would like to know more about. Because my students come from low-income households and have very limited resources at home, with the use of technology and applications on both the laptops and iPads, it will keep my students more engaged and active in the classroom.

It can help enhance their learning process and acquire multi-tasking skills.

Students can demonstrate their learning while encouraging student involvement. Since half of my students in the classroom are students with needs, technology provides a unique and authentic learning experience. Exposure to content that is seen on the iPads and laptops help solidify what is learned and can be used to acquire new content. As for the iPads, it contains accessibility features, which empowers students of all abilities and needs.
