This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My classroom is composed of English language learners and Special Education students who deserve to have access to everything they need for their academic success. I am so grateful my classroom has many resources thanks to donors like you who are very thoughtful and generous. This time, I am asking you to help me reach my students' diverse learning needs by using another computer in my classroom.

This laptop I'm requesting will be an extra help in the classroom, especially during small group instruction.

I need to work with a small group of up to 6 students on a daily basis while the rest of the students work independently. For the rest of the class, I find it essential to project a station map where my students can see in which table they are working, who is in their group, and which activity they are working on. Having another laptop will help me organize my students' independent work while I am teaching my small group with my classroom computer.

I never thought I would need two computers in my classroom, but I definitely see how these tools are the basic technology we as teachers need to have available.

In addition to using this computer to organize my students' independent tasks, I will be using it to complete professional responsibilities such as monitoring students’ IEP progress, communicating with parents, gathering resources for my lessons, planning lessons, and completing special education documents.
