As a teacher in a low-income and high poverty school, I know my students face several challenges in and out of the classroom. Despite this, I am always looking to inspire them and provide them with the best meaningful learning experiences. Many come from single parent homes, they receive little home support with homework, no access to computers, and receive free and reduced lunch.
My main goal is to give them the best learning experience during the school day.
Every student deserves to be inspired and given the opportunity for academic excellence.
My Project
My classroom needs some new and improved technology.
Research has repeatedly demonstrated that students learn better when they are fully engaged and that multi-sensory, hands-on learning is the best way to engage them.
Interactive whiteboards will facilitate this multi-sensory learning environment. Using this requested Ipevo wireless interactive whiteboard and Lumens mini projector will provide students with multimedia lessons and presentations, collaborative problem solving, showcasing student projects and presentations, and virtual field trips.
Studies haven proven student engagement is the number one benefit to teaching with this tool. Interactive white boards provide an extraordinary opportunity to create classroom environments where students with different learning styles can engage and learn from each other. This easy-to-learn technology ensures that both my students and I are developing 21st century skills.
