This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My Pre-K classroom is a vibrant, hands-on learning environment where students can explore and become life-long learners. I want to keep them in engaged. This is their very first year of school, and I love to set their expectations high. I have 20 wonderful, fun, loving Pre-K students, who are learning in two languages English and Spanish. I have 10 boys and 10 girls. They come to school ready to learn each day. they are quick to ask questions, participate and jump in to explore and discover. They will learn to discover, explore with confidence and develop a lifetime love of learning.
My Project
My students need a listening center to reinforce vocabulary and comprehension as they build their literacy skills. In my classroom, we work to give these students the best possible start so that they will be successful in kindergarten and beyond. Most of my students will not be able to read independently; however, they can enjoy listening to a story. A new listening center will allow my students to listen to stories and enjoy books that they can not read on their own. As a workstation, it will give the students a sense of independence and cultivate their love of reading.
With a projector, I could show videos, photographs, slideshows - tools that would enrich my lessons and benefit my students.
In addition, it will allow all children the ability to see and learn when using small learning tools in group lessons. This will give them their opportunity to share and display their work. A projector would help bring my lessons to life and keep students engaged and stimulated during learning.
