My Students

Our class is made up of 20 third grade students. We are an Integrated Collaborative Team-Teaching class that is made up of special education students and English language learners. Our students are thirsty for knowledge, but unfortunately, we are in a very high need, underserved area. Although we are moving towards growing our technology resources, there are still not enough for individual students, or even for a class. Special education and English language learning students especially benefit from technology resources through visual representations and translation services and games. Now more than ever we are in need of technology. Most of the school’s technological resources are depleted to accommodate students who learn from home. It is my goal to ensure that students who attend in person do not miss out.

My Project

Now that remote learning is a reality, the need for technology is greater than ever. Our New York City school in the heart of Harlem has done an amazing job ensuring that EVERY student has a device for learning from home. However, this has depleted our school supply of devices for the in-person students to use within the school building.

Now that so much of the curricula has moved to an online format, the students who come to the physical school building every day need devices in order to complete some required tasks and assignments in school that can only be done digitally.
