Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My fourth grade students are inquisitive and eager to learn! I have 35 fourth grade students who come from low income families and have limited resources at home. Three-quarters of my students have an individualized learning plan which provides them accommodations for learning and completing assignments in the classroom. The other one-fourth are ESOL students learning the English language. Having access to technology in the classroom will not only give them access to resources not available to them, but it will also motivate them to work harder in school.

Making technology readily available for my students will give them a hands-on approach to reading, learning, and applying new concepts and skills.

My Project

I want to spark an interest for technology in my students as well as a love for reading that will last a lifetime! Technology is the way to make learning more engaging, fun, and hands-on for my students. Your donation will not only help my students develop a love for reading, but it will ultimately help me create our technology leaders of tomorrow.

My students need access to technology!

They must work on individual reading goals on a weekly basis. These goals are met by each student on the reading program iReady. It is an integral part of our small group reading instruction every day. Providing access to technology in the classroom will allow all my students to work on and achieve their weekly goals. Furthermore, they will also be able to read books and complete a comprehension assessment on the app MyOn, also available on their student portal. Technology plays a crucial role not only in our daily school activities, but also in creating and developing tomorrow's leaders!

As you can see, my students are missing out on a lot because we don't have access to computers in our classroom. Will you help me mold and develop our future technology leaders?
